For course Personal Leadership
In this course I
hope to develop my leadership skills at my school. I believe that if I
can take an active role in how my department educates our students then
we can eliminate duplication, assist each other as teachers and improve
our student success rate. I have come from 24 years of service in the
U.S. Army and while I am a good leader in that culture I understand I have much to learn about how to lead teachers in the civilian community.

I think you hit the nail right on the head all of us continue to grow. Whether we spent 24 years in a previous career or just graduated college. We continue to learn. We learn different things to make us better leaders. With you attitude, training and education I have no doubt that you will go far and make a great impact in children's lives.
ReplyDeleteNot just hope, but do your thing as well at its best. If perfection is a vague direction, then that passion will prove your action. Exceed your own expectations, Adam. That's the best way to defeat that challenge!

I think you did a great job in knowing what you have to do to help the students in the most effective way. There are so many things that we can do for them if we are committed. While you were a leader in the Army you had to learn how to lead; therefore, all you have to do is revamp those skills and use them to the best of your ability to help teach the students. You did a great job on the blog, but you almost sound unsure with words like if and hope. You have to be sure of yourself and take charge to get the results you want.
ReplyDeleteCommitment has to be number one without that you have a bunch of people running around with educator hats on but none of the desire to actually educate anyone. When you are an educator you can't just slightly enjoy your job because you won't put the time and effort you need to be great at your job. It is no longer about the educator it is about the people being educated.
